Hi, I'm Carissa
Designer of digital spaces, fashion, & sometimes gardens.
Always imagining a career in the fashion industry, I discovered a passion for digital design during my undergrad studying apparel design. I became enthralled with tweaking my wrap bootstrap portfolio site and designing websites, apps, and icons for other students. Since then, I’ve honed my UX and UI design skills by taking an immersive user experience course and working with local organizations, like the OSU Library and Highpoint Gallery to help re-structure their websites, re-brand, and create a more refined look that encourages a better user experience.
While obtaining my undergraduate degree, I had a strong focus on sustainability. I worked with a research group to develop a process for upcycling used clothing into a new textile, which we created a patent for and is still being used for research today. This experience laid the foundation for my research skills, which helps me today as I work with the user-centered design process.
In my free time, I enjoy gardening and have implemented my research and design skills in that area, creating a peaceful space that provides food and beauty. The local master gardeners noticed my garden and awarded me the Golden Shovel award, which I am quite proud of!
I appreciate you stopping by! If you'd like to work together or have any questions, send me an email, I'd love to chat.
